Headers on every authenticated response

When you hit the limit

You receive HTTP 429 with Retry-After (seconds until the reset) and this body:

{"detail":"Daily rate limit reached (667 requests/day). Resets at midnight UTC."}

Retry-After and X-RateLimit-Reset always agree. A client that keeps retrying a quota 429 every few seconds gains nothing until the reset; sleep or stop instead.

What does and does not count

• Each authenticated data request counts once against your key's daily total.
• GET /me/ and GET /me/usage are free, so you can check usage even when you are at the limit.
• GET /sports/ without a key is free.

Failed authentication throttle

Repeated requests with missing or invalid keys from the same IP address are temporarily blocked with 429 and a Retry-After header. Fix the key rather than retrying.

Polling efficiently

• Match your polling interval to the league refresh interval (about 30 seconds for NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL). See refresh intervals.
• Filter with markets, bookmakers and event_id so one call returns what you need.
• Use commenceTimeFrom and commenceTimeTo to fetch a day's slate in one call.
• Read X-RateLimit-Remaining and slow down before you reach zero.
